FRIDAY: BUT MONDAY’S COMING

We have different mindsets on Fridays, especially on the job. Since most Americans work the traditional 9 - 5, M - F hours, I can attest to the fact that people act happier on Fridays than on the other weekdays. 

Now Monday is a different story altogether! It’s like adjusting  all over again, every Monday, to get back into the groove of working. We all know why: on weekends we often sleep later, have a leisurely breakfast rather than a bagel and coffee from a drive through. We might travel a bit over the weekend to visit friends or family, or even go to a big game, getting home late Sunday night. Of course it’s hard to go to work on Monday!

Fridays always seem to be better than other days when you work. Of course, I'm retired, but I still enjoy the Friday mindset, don't you? There's the feeling of anticipation, looking forward to something interesting and/or exciting for the days coming up. I enjoy being with my family, especially the grandchildren on weekends.

I couldn't agree more! It has been proven that pets help people to have a more positive outlook on life. They give us a sense of responsibility, shower us with unconditional love, make us laugh, and show us how to live in the moment, not worrying. What's not to love about those things??

Yep, good ol' Friday has rolled around once again.  Now that my husband and I are retired, Fridays are much like other days, except for the fact that the excitement of being off for the weekend is hard to forget.  Everyone at work just seemed happier on Fridays--a lot more than they did on Mondays!

So--enjoy your weekend,  try to stay cool (especially if the temp is over 100 degrees like it is in many places), and praise the Lord for all His blessings and goodness.

WHICH DOXIE WAS DUKE YESTERDAY?

Here's wishing you a fabulous and blessed weekend, doxie friends--the weather here in the Atlanta area is sunny, breezy, with a high of 73 degrees.  Perfect.  Of course, rain comes in during the middle of the night and it's supposed to rain much of Saturday.  I happen to like rain, though.

HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYONE!

Although I've been retired since December 2013, Fridays still have that special magic . . . my hubby is retired, too, but he's been subbing at our county schools, so it seems like he's still working (well, he actually is!).

I've been very busy with my writing, now that I have the time to work on it.  I write Christian fiction, of course; one second edition will be out in a matter of days, I'm working on another second edition that will be out within a month, and I plan to have a new book out this summer.  Plus, all the marketing that goes with indie publishing (which I love, by the way) keeps me very busy during the day.  But I love it.

FRIDAY, A FAVORITE DAY OF THE WEEK

      

                                       

Well . . . it seems that even dachshunds love Fridays! 

 

Before I retired from teaching, I figured that Fridays would soon just be another day to me.  Wrong!  I still greet my Fridays with happy anticipation, although I can pretty much do what I want with my day--if I am able to do it right now.  

 

Since my knee replacement surgery, however, "doing what I want" is after I go to my two-hour physical therapy session (I also go on Mondays and Wednesdays).  Despite my aversion to exercise since I've been an adult, these sessions help so much with swelling, flexibility, and range of motion.  It is actually fun, commiserating with fellow sufferers (that's a joke, of course), and the therapists are the greatest.  And I salute all the physical therapists out there who help folks like me to improve our quality of life.

 

But I digress.  HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYONE!  May your weekend be blessed.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Although I now work at home, I still love Fridays:  the anticipation of the weekend, the hubby and I doing something special on most Friday nights, and . . . well . . . just the whole idea that Fridays represent.

People seem more upbeat on Fridays; at the market, stores, restaurants, you'll catch bits of conversations about weekend plans, sleeping late on Saturday mornings, outdoor activities, and so on.

When I worked in offices or taught in the classroom, Fridays were different from the other days of the week--students were jubilant that they'd be out of school for two days, of course--but then, so were teachers!  In offices, many companies had casual days on Fridays, and we enjoyed that.

HAPPY FRIDAY (THE 13TH)!

Oh, we all love Fridays, whether or not we are in school or a part or the work force.  When I was a child, Friday the 13th was even touted as a "bad luck day," but I honestly never noticed it being any different from other days.  As a Christian, I don't believe in luck, but people still like to mention today as one of those days to watch out for!
