Remember that funny camel commercial, "Ya know what day it is?" Well, here's the doxie version for you today:

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em (what's NOT to love??).

Piebald doxies are gorgeous, especially those with ticking ("freckled"). Remember the old saying, "There's nothing cuter than a speckled pup"? That definitely applies to piebald doxies.

Enjoy these beauties for your Monday viewing pleasure:

"Don't hate me because I'm beautiful"

"Are you gonna throw that ball or just stare at me?"

"Orange you glad you adopted me??"

"Calgon, take me away!"

"Look! He's gonna take another bite!"

"Did I hear you mention treats?"

"I know there's a big bug in this grass somewhere . . . "

And perhaps every doxie lover's favorite piebald doxie, Meatball:

And here's Meatball. Isn't he adorable?

Have a great Monday and a great week ahead--and stay positive, keep looking up, and hug your doxies!

#TheDachshundEscapadesBooks, written by Sarge the doxie, (modeled on my doxie granddawg Shadow) are his tales of his adoption at eight weeks into his zany human family in #IAmSarge until his retirement with Book 5, #ADachshundsMerryGoRoundLife.
❤️ My own doxie Duke joins the family in Book 2, #IAmDachshund ~ and oh, the adventures those two have, continued in Book 3, #DachshundsForever, and Book 4, #ADachshundsTribute. You don’t want to miss their cross-country RV trip with Sarge’s hilarious take on everything (and everyone) they encounter along the way.
❤️ Dogs really understand humans more than we realize, and Sarge is no exception. His family is actually my own family: I wrote these books for my grandchildren, since they never knew “Papa” Duke, my wonderful dad, with his hilarious stories and big, loving heart. Papa becomes Sarge’s favorite human of all, and their relationship touches the hearts of dog-loving readers everywhere.

Until now, I have avoided talking about COVID 19, but I wanted you to know that I am praying for you, your loved ones, your community, our nation, and our world--especially for leadership to have wisdom in dealing with this crisis. None of us have ever faced anything like this in our lifetimes, so going forward is going to be difficult when making decisions based on any type of comparisons.

I also want to give a shout out to our medical, law enforcement, and leadership for going above and beyond during this time--and let's honor our truckers who keep store shelves stocked for all of us.

With that said, I will continue as always to provide cute dachshund photos and content, since that's what this blog was designed to do. And it is my hope that these will encourage you and brighten your days ahead. Let's plunge right in!

Since there's nothing else to do right now!

Image may contain: dog, possible text that says 'IJUST DON'T WANT TO LOOK BACK AND THINK "I COULD'VE EATEN THAT".'
Are you eating more since you're home most of the time?
Let's just be thankful for what we have, not complain about what we don't have or can't do. We are truly blessed, so a little thankfulness goes a long way. Remember: God's got this!

Have a great week, doxie lovers, and keep looking up!

It can't be March already! We're into the third month of 2020--it'll be Christmas before we know it! Well, that's a bit of a stretch, I know, but it will at least be July 4 next month!!

March, although still cold and even snowy in most places, brings the hope of spring, so you warm weather lovers have something to look forward to. Here in Middle Georgia as a transplant, I'm still looking for a real winter, at least for a few days! All too soon for me it will be very hot, very humid, and very buggy. That's all right, I suppose--I'll just crank up the AC and close the blinds to endure what my body calls a LONG hot flash!

Nevertheless, warmer weather does bring its advantages. I'll leave those to you who are longing to sweat while swatting flies and mosquitos. The beach beckons the sun worshippers, too. Spring brings a whole host of lovely colors to the landscape after the bleakness of winter, so it's not all bad. To prove I'm a good sport, here are some beautiful spring scenes to mollify you offended spring lovers:

And last, but not least:

Have a beautiful Monday, doxie lovers ~ and look for your first crocus!

Friday continues to be the favorite day of the week, with Saturday coming in a close second. Before I retired, I noticed that people's attitudes were different on Friday: there was an air of anticipation and expectation, I suppose from looking forward to the weekend and relaxation or excitement (or both). Walking out that door at the end of the day on Friday is intoxicating!

Now that I am retired, I still look forward to Fridays, because the rest of my family is busy with work and school during the week. Therefore, Fridays are very special to me, as well. Below are some dawgs who want to wish you a happy Friday:
