TWIN CUTIES!

No automatic alt text available.

This mama and baby do look like twins, and they are both absolutely adorable! What do you suppose they're both thinking as they are having their picture taken?

Below are several sets of actual twin puppies, and I love all of them!  Enjoy:

How did the photographer get them to look
in the same direction at the same time?

I love their little faces ~ adorable!

These itty bitty puppies are so very young

BABIES, DOXIES, AND CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

Babies and puppies just go together nicely--especially babies and DOXIE puppies!

This adorable photo of both sleeping and wearing Santa hats was too sweet to resist, so this is my
Christmas photo of the day for my doxie-loving friends. I'll include a Christmas photo every time I post during the month of December.

Do  you have your Christmas shopping completed? I have done nearly all of it, and have already wrapped the gifts!  Oh, I know people who shop the after-Christmas sales for NEXT YEAR'S CHRISTMAS--I'm not one of them. Before we were retired teachers, my husband Clark and I were very busy during the month of December: all the school programs, preparing for and administering semester exams, grading exams and averaging grades, etc. Also, both of our daughters were involved in programs at school and at church, as well as playing sports, so there wasn't much time left over for decorating until Christmas break, let alone shopping for Christmas!

Image result for christmas presentsI made it easy on myself this year: I ordered everything online, and I cannot begin to do justice to the joys of doing so! There are several reasons why shopping online is such a stress-free way to shop:

(1) you can shop any time of day or night, dressed to the hilt or in PJs;

(2) it's so easy to find what you want without having to go to several stores (have you ever noticed that if you are shopping for something specific--item, size, color--stores never have it??);

(3) many sites offer free shipping, and you don't have to burn up gas or hunt for a parking space;

(4) weather doesn't affect your shopping, unless a big snowstorm slows down the trucks bringing    your purchases;

(5) it's fun! Our daughter gave us a list for each of our grandchildren, complete with the links to those items--all I had to do was click on the links, and presto--buy the gifts.

A word of caution:

(1) please do not use a debit card when purchasing online. Banks and stores say those are easy targets for misuse. Credit cards are more protected;

(2) shop only on sites that are vetted or have a stellar track record. Fly-by-night websites abound around the Christmas season, so be careful.

Enjoy your Christmas shopping, and have a great weekend, doxie lovers!

FAMILY FUN--AND DUKE, TOO!

Here's our doxie Duke with Daddy (my hubby Clark) yesterday, enjoying the hammock at our daughter's home for a Memorial Day cookout.  It was a beautiful and sunny day, and all of us had a great family time.

The grandkids also visited a family who had puppies and horses--what could be better?

TIME FOR SWEET DACHSHUND PUPPIES!

Everyone goes "Awwwww" when they see cute puppies, especially doxie puppies!

Today I merely wanted to provide a cuteness fix if anyone out there is in need of one.  I cannot resist cute little puppies, and the black-and-tan babies below remind me so much of Duke when we first saw him.

Enjoy!

LET SLEEPING DOGS LIE

I'm a softie when it comes to puppies, and when I see them sleeping, I'm a goner.  These pics just make my heart melt!  They are just so cute, sweet, and darling.

Now that I've made you nauseated, take a gander at 'em:

Here's a special Easter basket for you, full of cute doxie puppies.  Fewer calories than chocolate, less messy than dyed eggs, and "interactive."

"D" IS FOR DACHSHUND . . . WHAT ELSE??

In my attempt at writing articles with the alphabet,  this one is in honor of the letter D.  There were quite a few things that I could have written about, such as dirt, dragons, desserts, or dishwashers, but I kept coming back to my favorite dog, the dachshund.

My family first owned a dachshund when we lived in Bremerhaven, Germany, and her name was Elia.  She was a red standard, smooth coat, and although I was only nine or ten at the time, I agreed with my parents that she was quite stubborn--a doxie trait.  In an attempt to housebreak her, my parents left newspapers down for her to use:  that seemed to be the method of housebreaking dogs back then. After all, we lived in a third-floor apartment with no elevator, so it wasn't always convenient to take Elia out when necessary.  There were sixty-four steps up to our apartment--I know, because I often counted them when I came home from school in the afternoons.  A lot of stairs.   Well, Elia would "hold it" for hours and hours when my mother would put her out on the balcony, then when Mom took pity on the poor dog and let her in, that's when Elia decided it was time to go potty--right there in the middle of the living room floor.  My mother was not happy, to say the least.  I don't recall what happened to this stubborn-but-loving doxie.  We left Germany for the States when I was twelve, so I suppose we foisted her off on another family.  I believe by then that she was housebroken, though.
