WEENIE DOG WEDNESDAY: DOXIE & THEIR TOYS

 Doxies love their toys, especially squeaky ones! Their strong prey drive means that they are compelled to “kill” ‘em, too.

So these babes in Toyland show the good, the bad, and the ugly of doxies and toys. They’re serious, folks!

DACHSHUNDS AND THEIR TOYS

Dog owners spend a lot of money on their dogs, and most family pooches have more than their fair share of dog toys. Doxie owners are no different, but WE know how quickly those little fiends love to tear up said toys, especially if they're squeak toys!  

Some doxies also chew up important things, unfortunately, so it's best to keep those out of harm's way. They even like paper goods like napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, magazines--although I can't imagine why that is so much fun for them, can you? Sometimes the cheapest and most enjoyable toys for our dogs aren't really toys at all: an old sock (or, perish the thought, even a good sock!), an old shoe, and so on.

Dachshunds love their toys, and if said toys have squeakers, so much the better.  Duke HAS to "kill" a toy as quickly as he can, too.  Does your doxie do that as well?

What kind of toys does your dachshund like?  I'll begin by saying, "any kind that cannot be torn up," because dachshunds are notorious for shredding toys (and other stuff).
