HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!

I trust you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, just like we did. All the food was fabulous, and we kept our traditional Thanksgiving tradition: we ate too much!

The grands came Sunday before Thanksgiving and stayed with us until we went to their house yesterday. Here are some photos:

All was fine until both granddawgs tried
to get on my lap after lunch!
So, now it's time for the official Christmas season to begin!  We've decided this year, to simplify, to just give gift cards, then hit the Christmas sales after the holidays.

See you soon!!

UNUSUAL DOXIE COAT: OOOO LA LA

Image may contain: dog

Today, I'm featuring the longhaired mini piebald doxie--isn't this one adorable? I've never seen one with this coloring, and believe me, I've seen my share of dachshunds over the years. The colors are striking, and the doxie is, of course, as cute as can be.

Here's another one:

The colors are more muted, but a cute pup, nevertheless.

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em, no matter what color/coat they have!

In the photo above, that's my granddaughter Alexa and my granddawg Sunny. Aren't they cute??

And below is a photo of my two granddawgs, Bruno the boxer and Sunny--they're good buddies, and good dawgs.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME: GET RID OF IT!

Image may contain: text

It's no longer feasible to use DST. Our daughter Bethany lives in AZ, and they've never instituted DST. I'm for that, because we no longer need it in this modern world.

Congress has talked about it, but has never actually put a bill on the floor to vote on it. With all that's going on in this world, I suppose DST is the low man on the totem pole. But still . . .

What do you think?

THANKSGIVING: A SEASON FOR THANKS

Image result for thanksgiving imagesNow that Howl-o-wiener is over, it's time to turn our attention to Thanksgiving--my favorite holiday! I have much to be thankful for, and this holiday hasn't been as commercialized as the others. In fact, it's a day devoted to being with family, sharing the traditional family meal of turkey and dressing, and giving thanks for how the Lord has greatly blessed this nation and our families. That is not to say that we don't have difficulties and/or problems, but that God is in control, is always faithful, and will guide and direct us if we trust in Him.

There isn't space here for me to list all I'm thankful for, but I will say that apart from the gift of eternal life that the Lord provided for me (and I've accepted it by trusting His Son Jesus as my personal Savior), my family means the most to me on this earth. We will all meet together in heaven one day, and that is the greatest blessing of all!

My favorite meal is always the Thanksgiving meal, commemorating the meal that our forefathers shared with the Native Americans. We, too, must always be grateful for this country and its bountiful blessings.

During this season, I'll once again share Sarge's Thanksgiving story, like I always do each year. Join me in giving thanks and be grateful for our lives. The human condition can sometimes be difficult, dangerous, and depressing--but it can also be abundant, joyous, and fulfilled.

God bless you and your loved ones, doxie lovers.
