GRANDKIDS AT IT AGAIN!

The grandkids love to dress up their animals, and Shadow, their doxie, is no exception.  Here he's depicted as Shadow the Super Dawg.  He's handsome, isn't he--at least, the small part of him you can see.

He's a tolerant sport, however, and that's fortunate.  They're bigger than he is!

AND . . . HERE'S . . . SHADOW!

Here's a photo of our doxie granddawg Shadow wearing his new hooded sweater.  Doesn't he look handsome?

Somehow (from his facial expression), I don't think he's all that thrilled to be wearing it, however.  Doxies have a way of letting us know what they think about something, don't they?

SHADOW THE CUDDLEBUG!

Granddawg Shadow at age 13 still loves to cuddle with Mama (that's her hand you see in the photo).  She commented that she hoped the children would also want to cuddle when they reach the age of 13 (they are currently ages 10, 8, and 4).

That's one of the MANY things I love about doxies:  they love to cuddle and give us doggie kisses, no matter their age.

SLEEPING: DACHSHUNDS EXCEL IN IT!

Granddawg Shadow, like all dachshunds, not only enjoys sleeping, but he's extremely good at it.  Here's a montage of some of his most memorable snoozes:

SHADOW THE DACHSHUND: TO SLEEP OR NOT TO SLEEP?

Looks like his flame point Siamese buddy
Aslan has the upper hand (er, paw)

Shadow our "granddawg" is now 12, but he's still going strong--below are pictures of him enjoying his family.  Well, actually, he's enjoying SLEEPING with family members.  He's been seen sleeping with any of the children, both cats, or alone.  Being the elder statesman of the family now (he's 84 when calculated in dog years), he can pretty much sleep when and where he wants.

And he does.

Siamese buddy

I dearly love watching animals interacting and playing together, especially if they are different types.  That dog-and-cat thing doesn't matter to Shadow and his pals.  Good.
