PURE DACHSHUND!
Yep, that's a doxie for ya! They are so loving, so caring, so sweet . . . and so mischievous - but we wouldn't have them any other way, would we?

BEYOND THE HYPE AT CHRISTMAS
Christmas is even more under fire this year - elements are pushing to have it renamed, calling its trees "holiday" trees--but if Christ had not been born in that stable in Bethlehem, we wouldn't even be discussing this holiday today.
I haven't seen any protest over the holy days of other faiths, have you?
In our family, we say "Merry CHRISTmas" because that's what it is. What could be more joyous than the fact that the Son of God was born - in order to die in my place - so that I could have the opportunity to receive Him as Savior - and by doing so, obtain eternal life?
Celebrating His birth respectfully is the LEAST I can do. MERRY CHRISTmas!!
"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." John 3:16-17 NIV

CHRISTMAS DOXIES!
Wow. I planned on putting a couple of Christmas doxie pics on here, but ran across so many, I couldn't stop! Is it just me, or are doxie lovers especially adept at inserting doxies into just about every area of life??
Dachshunds, at least those I know, love to open presents, and they don't care whose presents they are, either. They'll gladly "help" anyone tear open (literally) those gifts . . . but that's just another reason I find doxies so adorable. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

YEP, I DID IT!
Yep, another doxie trait comes to the fore - they'll do ANYTHING to show their sociability! And, they just love to lick humans' faces as well.
Our doxie Duke hasn't ever gone quite this far, but he'll go to great lengths (no pun intended) to get a shot at licking our faces or playfully nipping at our noses. Dachshunds just LOVE to nip human noses!
Well, noses are easy to get to . . .

BEING PARALYZED HAS ITS BENEFITS!
Typical doxie thinking! They are highly intelligent and know exactly what we want them to do, but often choose not to do it. I've often seen this facial expression on Duke when he wants something. Then, I'm supposed to guess what that is.
We love 'em anyway, don't we??

WHATSUP, DOX?
"Duh, whatsup, Dox?"
I laughed out loud when I ran across this dachshund. I don't know how the photographer managed to (1) get the fake teeth into the doxie's mouth, (2) keep them in there, (3) keep its ears up, and (4) have the dog sit still long enough for this hilarious picture!
Hope you enjoyed a chuckle over this today.

SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS . . .
Well, if it's raining, you can use your dachshund umbrella to show the world which dog is THE best breed! This would also be a great doxie lover Christmas gift.
I've heard that God sent us dachshunds to show us His love. I believe it, because dogs love unconditionally. That's why we dog lovers enjoy their company so much!
I have always loved rainy days.

DACHSHUND NECKTIE, OF COURSE
If I wore ties, I'd certainly wear this one.

THRILLED OVER CHRISTMAS
This Christmas card drawing perfectly captures the dachshund's "thrilled" expression about being bedecked with Christmas lights--don't you agree?
We doxie owners see this expression quite often.
Despite that, I LOVE that trait about dachshunds--you never have to doubt what they think about anything! Our Duke also barks at us if we laugh at him, scare him, or won't get up fast enough to take him outside.
We never allowed our children to talk back to us, but we think it is cute when Duke does--Holly noticed that, too, LOL!
