THRILLED OVER CHRISTMAS

This Christmas card drawing perfectly captures the dachshund's "thrilled" expression about being bedecked with Christmas lights--don't you agree?
We doxie owners see this expression quite often.

Despite that, I LOVE that trait about dachshunds--you never have to doubt what they think about anything!  Our Duke also barks at us if we laugh at him, scare him, or won't get up fast enough to take him outside.

We never allowed our children to talk back to us, but we think it is cute when Duke does--Holly noticed that, too, LOL!

CUTE AS A SPECKLED PUP!

 

Ever heard the saying "Cute as a speckled pup?"  Well, here's proof that speckled pups (especially dappled doxies) are extreeemely cute!  

And, no matter what kind of dachshund you see--long haired, short haired, wire haired, dappled, red, black, gray, chocolate, cream--they ALL have the same facial expressions!
 

BED HOGS EXTRAORDINAIRE

Yes, we dachshund owners/lovers are quite familiar with this typical doxie expression, especially when prompted to "get off the bed."

This is not my dog Duke, although it looks surprisingly like him, down to coloring and expression.  I've seen him look EXACTLY like this when he's ensconced himself on our bed :).
