“There’s nothing cuter than a speckled pup!” Today’s beautiful doxies are known as piebalds and dapples:

“Dapples have irregularly shaped, blended spots of diluted color. Piebalds display solid, defined white patches and almost always have a white tip on their tail.

“Eye Color: Dapple dachshunds can have blue, hazel, or partially blue eyes. True piebald dachshunds always have dark brown.”—Reddit

So, if you have a pie or a dapple, lucky you! These doxies are gorgeous, and no two are exactly alike. The spotted, freckle-like small spots some of them have are called ticking.
