English is a crazy language, because it’s a melting pot comprised of many. French, German, Russian, Spanish—with Greek and Latin thrown in—no wonder its grammar makes no sense at times.
But as a retired English teacher, I love all of its ins and outs. I love grammar, the nuts and bolts—or framework, if you will—of English. Parts of speech, verbals, verb tense, mood, sentence diagraming, punctuation, vocabulary—I am fascinated by it all.
Perhaps I am certifiable, but it makes me happy. Have a great Thursday!
