CELEBRATE 2020

People do all sorts of things to celebrate the New Year, some of which are on the crazy side. We usually go out to dinner or gather with family for a New Year's celebration to see in the New Year, and the younger ones are allowed to stay up until it's the new year!

In these waning hours of 2019, I always feel a bit of sadness that another year has gone by, but also look forward with anticipation of the new year and what it might bring our way. I am thankful to have lived another year with my loved ones, I do know that!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, DOXIE LOVERS!

NEW YEAR 2020 IS COMING! (READY OR NOT)

We had a fabulous Christmas holiday with family at our home. The fun, food, fellowship, and family were superb. I hope each of you had an equally festive holiday.

Now, we face a New year in a few short days. What will 2020 bring to our homes, our neighborhoods, our country, and our world? Not all of it will be good, as you probably know. But as a Christian and with the Lord's help and guidance, I feel that I can face whatever comes with peace of mind. That is my prayer for you as well, fellow doxie lovers.

Now--here's wishing you a wonderful and prosperous (in all ways) New Year!

'TIS THE SEASON

Well, Christmas will be here in just a few days. The decorations have been up for several weeks, all our gifts have arrived (we shop online) and are wrapped/under the tree, the menu for Christmas dinner is set, and we just wait. The grandchildren are so excited--ah, the blessings of youth. Our nine-year-old grandson has practically memorized the size, shape, number, and order of our packages under the tree. I told him he could look all he wanted, but he was not to touch one single present! Oh, that has been so hard for him!

But we must not forget the true meaning of CHRISTmas, why we celebrate in the first place. Oh, it's gone out of fashion in some circles, replaced with Santa, reindeer, snowmen, jingle bells, and so on--they have their place, but it is our way of commemorating the birth of Christ our Savior. I wish each of you a beautiful holiday season, on through the New Year.

Merry Christmas!

And, we must include our doxies:

MERRY CHRISTMAS, doxie lovers! See you after New Year's.

TODAY'S OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!

Forty-nine years ago, Clark and I became husband and wife. It has been a wonderful ride, albeit with its ups and downs, like any marriage. I wouldn't trade our time together for anything in this world. We had met when we were both 20, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Here are a few photos to commemorate our years of marriage:

CHRISTMAS DECORATING: A DOG'S VIEW

No photo description available.

Good ol' Snoopy! I realize he isn't a doxie, but an endearing beagle nonetheless.  While we're on the topic of Christmas. does your family usually buy presents for your pets? We always do! When Shadow and Duke were alive, they looked for their presents under the tree and ripped into them when given the word. They loved it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETHANY!

Today is our daughter Bethany's birthday ~ and we wish her all the love in the world! She lives in AZ and we don't see Bethany and hubby Kurt that often, but we stay in touch daily. Today was also my mother's birthday, shared with Bethany my mom passed away in January 2013. She's celebrating her birthday in heaven, far better than anything we could do down here!

We love you, Bethany. You are such a caring, generous, and beautiful person, inside and out!

DOG CHRISTMAS, DOXIE STYLE

No photo description available.

Who knows what goes on in our dogs' minds?  We can only surmise, but doxies are pretty good at showing us with their facial expressions and body language. For example:

IT'S THE MOST WIENERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!

I'm unabashedly a Christmas junkie: I love the decorations, the food, the music, even wrapping presents! And now, shopping is a breeze since I do 99% of it online these days. But best of all, for Christians, we celebrate the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him, there would be no CHRISTmas.

Enjoy these Christmas scenes, doxies, what have you:

There's always a bright side, you know--think about the beauty of this Christmas season. Even though most of us have issues, heartaches, and health problems, we can think of others and do things that bring THEM happiness. I encourage you during this season to focus on others. I promise it will uplift your spirits. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
