Then, of course, came Mother's Day. Our oldest daughter & family celebrated with us at our house, as our other daughter & hubby are touring California in their RV at the moment. Right now, they are in the San Francisco area.

Here are some photos commemorating Mother's Day:
Beautiful cymbidium orchids Kurt and Bethany sent me while they're in California |
Holly and the grands in their matching outfits |
The grands with Grandma (me) |
My beautiful Mother's Day roses: the pink ones from the grands, the red ones from my hubby Clark |
Holly & Philip gave me the print on the wall; notice the doxies!! |
Holly had back surgery on Monday, and it was done as an outpatient procedure! There were only two small incisions in her lower back, but that doesn't mean minimal pain. She's had a lot of it, but is a tad better today. Please keep her in your prayers.
The grandchildren have stayed with us for about a week, but went home yesterday. Church friends will be bringing meals to Holly and family, and also inviting the children over to give Holly some much-needed rest. Our son-in-law Philip is a pastor, so life is busy in their family. Friends come and sit with Holly when Philip has church business, like a funeral this afternoon. The children will probably be coming back to stay with us some as Holly recuperates. I'm so thankful we live close enough we can do that.
Duke has graduated from the playpen to the crate now, as he's mostly recovered from HIS back surgery on April 1. Here's his new crate:
Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em,
