This is exactly how my doxie Duke reacts to food--he doesn't miss a trick! When I'm preparing breakfast in the mornings, he's lying on the couch under his blanket. THE MOMENT I OPEN THE PACKAGE OF CHEESE, he's in the kitchen like a flash! (He loves cheese, by the way.)
He's also learned that when Clark takes him out back where the yard is fenced, he races back upstairs as fast as his short legs will allow, and is waiting in the kitchen for his treat. He doesn't normally get one if he is taken to the front yard. What a dawg!
