HAPPY HALLOWEEN, FRIENDS!

Here are our three beloved grandchildren wearing their cute shirts embroidered by a family friend from their church.  Love 'em!

Happy Halloween, everyone--stay safe, and if you are in an area hit by Superstorm Sandy, our prayers are with you and your loved ones.  May the Lord encourage you, uplift you, and provide for you.

WHO AM I FOR HOWL-O-WIENER??

It seems that nobody on my Facebook page could figure out who I am in this Howl-o-wiener costume.  Can you guess??

A PRINCESS, BATMAN, AND A LEOPARD!

Our grandchildren are all set for Halloween:  Alexa the princess, Asher as Batman, and Annika the leopard.

They've already attended one Halloween party, and I'm sure there will be several more activities in their community.  Ah, the joys of childhood!

EQUAL TIME!

I recently posted a picture of grandson Asher posing with the fall decor at home . . . our daughter has since taken a picture of all three children, so in order to give "equal time," I am posting this one of Asher with his sisters, Annika and Alexa.

They are growing so fast!  Happy fall, everyone :).

SKUNK IT!

"Honestly, Mama, if I wear this costume, nobody will like me!  They will run away from me!  They will think I'm a stinker!"

Happy Howl-o-wiener!  More doxies in costume will be posted in the coming days :).

ANOTHER REASON I LOVE DOGS

Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.

I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn’t be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn’t want her to know that I hadn’t been walked today. Sometimes the overworked shelter keepers get too busy and I didn’t want her to think poorly of them.

As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn’t feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone’s life.

She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.

Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.
I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven’t walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.

I rescued a human today.

LIL' PUNKIN'

Our two-year-old grandson Asher is all set for fall and Halloween.  In fact, he loves pumpkins!  His mom, our daughter Holly, told him to say "pumpkin" to get him to smile for his picture.

As you can see, that suggestion worked!  He's a sweetie :).

HELPFUL ADVICE

I offer this bit of advice to anyone reading this blog who might be going through a difficult time right now.  We all have difficult times now and then, but if you feel that your burdens are just too heavy, take them to the Lord.  I can personally vouch for the fact that He has never let me down.

If you do not consider yourself a Christian, well, you can also do something about that.  God is not willing that any should perish.  Confess your wrongdoings (sins) to Him, accept His Son Jesus Christ as your Savior, and repent of your sin.  Believe that He died on that cross for you, was buried, and rose again.  It is why He came to this earth:  to make a way for mankind to reach God after the broken relationship that occurred when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden.

It is my prayer that anyone who reads this post will reach out to Him . . . He will always come to those who truly seek Him.  John 3:16
