FIFTY TWO YEARS!

 Today is our 52nd wedding anniversary! My sweet hubby Clark presented me with two dozen long stemmed red roses (my favorites), and tonight we’re going out to celebrate with our daughter and family.

 Merry Christmas to all our men and women in the armed forces! My dad was  a 22-year career Army veteran, so the military holds a special place in my heart. He was of the Greatest Generation and saw action on WWII: the Philippines, Guadalcanal, and New Caledonia.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, DOXIE STYLE

 Well, Thanksgiving week is here. Schools are out, frost and/or snow is on the ground, and families are preparing for the traditional meal on Thursday. Our family celebrates three November birthdays—two down, one to go: mine on Friday!

I have always loved Thanksgiving and its emphasis on being thankful for what we have and the many blessings we enjoy. Just like our country’s first Thanksgiving, let’s all come together despite any differences. Our family is celebrating with two other families this year. We’re all contributing food to the meal, and it’s just more fun when sharing with others!
