MONDAY HAS A COMPLEX

 Mondays are hard after a great weekend. As a retiree, I’m happy to report that I don’t hate Mondays—I never did, but I’v e never been a morning person. 

Now that I’m retired and can get up as late as I wish—guess what? I’m usually up around 6:00 - 6:30 a.m.! Older adults need less sleep than young people. That’s odd—now that I have time to get my sleep, I don’t need it. Go figure.

TIME TO GIVE THANKS

 Yes, theThanksgiving season is upon us. One of my favorite holidays, I fear it may be eclipsed by Christmas. Oh, I love Christmas and all it entails, but Thanksgiving can’t possibly be commercialized, so therefore it is ignored by advertisers. After all, there’s only so many turkeys they can sell.

Thanksgiving harks back to that first Thanksgiving with settlers and Native Americans who helped them survive the winter in the New World. 

In today’s world, we can focus on Thankfulness by employing the Four Fs: 

•Faith

•Family

•Food

•Fellowship

Have a great weekend, and as you plan for Thanksgiving, do so with joy and thankfulness.

DOXIES:NOT MORNING PEOPLE

 This video was taken of Granddawg Sunny this morning by my daughter. Sunny is a typical doxie: she didn’t want to get up, and made that perfectly clear! Watch:

Puppies are usually going ho very early, but when they get a little older, nope! Sunny is four, so she likes to stay in bed for awhile, especially since the weather is cooler.

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love ‘em.

NOVEMBER HAS ARRIVED!

NOVEMBER is one of my favorite months of the year: colorful fall trees, cooler temps, and THANSGIVING, my favorite holiday! I love the emphasis on family and thankfulness. Our family also celebrates three birthdays this month.
