DOXIE SILLINESS

Today we’re featuring doxie silliness ~ they are born clowns, and if we laugh at their antics, that just eggs them on to further shenanigans, don’t you agree?

I love everything about this breed, but one of my favorite traits of theirs is their sense of humor. Coupled with their high intelligence, they make for some fun times and laughter.

CRAZY!

Sunny the doxie and Bruno the boxer 

Our grands and granddawgs were here the other night, so the kiddos and I decided to play cards. After a few minutes, Bruno decided he didn’t want us to! He stared at us, then started jumping at each of us, attempting to bite our cards! He didn’t try to hurt us, just the cards ~ he tried to yank a card out of the oldest granddaughter’s hand, ripping the card  in two. Big as he is, he was like the proverbial bull in a china shop. 

I was in my recliner and the kiddos were sitting on the floor in front of me crosslegged—we always use a square stool we have for a table when we play cards. Needless to say, we were all pretty blown away. Sunny saw what he was doing and  thought he was hurting us, so she started barking nonstop. The kids and I were laughing and yelling at Bruno to stop—which he didn’t until we stopped playing. Quite a scene! 

Never has he done this before. My hubby thinks what set him off was our slapping down cards on the table, but it’s never bothered him before. I think he wanted to play, too!

PLUVIOPHILES, UNITE!

The dictionary defines pluviophile as a lover of rain ~ I plead guilty! I find comfort and solace in rainy days, and I think they’re beautiful! Today dawned as a rainy day, which made me happy. Are you also a pluviophile?

I can sit at our front window for hours and watch it coming down, especially during the fall season (no pun intended). Raindrops on colorful foliage make me want to grab a canvas and paint brushes to create a masterpiece ~ although I have painted some, reality sets in eventually, so I just watch the rain.

I look at pictures of doxies on a daily basis, sometimes for hours. I must admit that it’s often hard for me to choose only a few for a particular post because I love them all!
